At only 30 min drive from the international airport of Preveza, Aktio, with daily flights from UK, Holland, Germany and many more you will be in this small paradise surrounded by an impressive range of mountains and the Ionian Sea. Also is possible to fly to Athens or Thessaloniki and drive to Paleros, about 4 h drive.
Paleros is a small town in West Greece belonging to an area known as Aitoloakarnania, where the main economy was once based on fishing and still has a strong connection to the sea.
Traditional picturesque town with narrow, winding streets that lead down to a harbor filled with colorful fishing boats as well as sailing boats.
Early in the morning you can find locals selling their fresh catches.
With many beaches around the town of Pogonia and Paleros, like the known Vathia Vali with its turquoise waters, and Potomaki beach very popular among families for the calm and shallow water which makes ideal for families with children. One fun fact about Paleros is that it is situated near the ruins of the ancient city of Palairos. These ruins are believed to date back to the 4th century BC and were once a thriving city in ancient Greece. Visitors to Paleros can explore these archaeological remains.
